Design Problem

I’ve been working with this client for years! The master bedroom was his final project to complete the work have done in his home. He spends a lot of time in his car driving and wanted a place of respite. A room that is soothing and relaxing, like a “high end hospitality” look. He did not want a lot of color, but did not want an “all gray” room. He wanted something with “wow” factor, like a bold and unique pattern on his pillows or bed spread. He also wanted to to include the color green, but only with plants.

Design Solutions

We used a neutral of warm and cool grays, and beige. Since we used a neutral color palette,I wanted to bring in a lot of texture and a couple of patterns. We added texture in the quilted bed spread, chenille pillows, headboard, leather chair, and faux silk drapes. The main pattern is the organic pattern found in the duvet cover and shams, but a secondary pattern was brought in with accent pillows. We also brought in some color with the succulents and green plants. The lighting and nailhead detail added some shine to the room.

Home Tour

This home was selected for a local home tour (College Park Home Tour) and the bedroom was a big hit with tour participants!
