This small space re-design was done for a client who wanted a soothing space, but wanted to incorporate some retro mid-century furnishings in the space.
She had made a few purchases before she called Paradigm Interiors and wanted to incorporate those items into the space, as well as some cherished favorites.
Because this was a small space, we had several discussions about how much furniture she felt she needed. She was apprehensive to get a sofa because she thought it might overcrowd the room, so initially we just created seating with chairs and ottomans.
We also pared down the furniture in the dining area. We decided to go with a small chest of drawers to serve as dining room storage and just two dedicated dining chairs. She also wanted to create a “faux-yer” as we lovingly called it because the front door opens directly into the great room. This was a small drop zone opposite the front door with a console, lamp, mirror, and a shallow bowl to keep keys.
In the bedroom, we created a girly and glamorous space with a beautiful mirrored vanity and faux fur seat. The room takes its inspiration from the Hollywood Regency style. Throughout the space, I referenced California where I could, something the client, a California native, absolutely loved.
