There were so many fun design trends that stood out at the Summer Market in Las Vegas. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be covering some of my favorites. This week I’m going to talk about my absolute favorite of the bunch: lighting fixtures made of organic materials.
Some of the top brands for this look are Dovetail, Arteriors, Selamat, Currey & Company, and Palecek. Selamat and Palecek are more exclusive brands, so they will be harder to find outside of an interior design studio, but Dovetail and Currey & Company can be found at one of my favorite vendors: The Design Network (TDN).
I really love the Coastal Loft look that Dovetail had curated in their Las Vegas showroom. I was so excited about it that I recorded a live video. They used a lot of this type of lighting in the showroom. My favorite were the lights that look like baskets.
The woven lighting made from natural fibers and grasses give a room a casual feel, but if you’re looking for a more formal look, like the look on my Coastal Cottage Pinterest board, then you might want to try a bamboo lighting fixture.
The woven style lighting also works with a bohemian eclectic look because it gives a nod back to the 1970’s when bamboo mats and macrame were boho staples. Woven lighting gives an earthy, organic look to any space, so naturally (pun intended) it works in a boho eclectic look.
If you like the look of natural woven and bamboo lighting, you can shop the look on my TDN board or by simply clicking the images above. If you love the coastal look, but you’re not sure if woven lighting fits with your coastal style, you can take my Coastal Design Style Quiz here.
